GREENVILLE – Alaine Kirby, APRN, MSN, FNP with Western Ohio OB/GYN was the guest speaker at the April 10 Greenville Business & Professional Women’s Club meeting. The Membership Committee hosted the evening, which was held at the Chestnut Village Center in Greenville. The committee consisted of Chair Susan Fowble, and members Desteni Mason, Leah Dumas, Hallie Foureman and Susan Shields.

Committee chair Susan Fowble introduced Alaine Kirby who has been a Nurse Practitioner with Wayne HealthCare for 7 years and has over 22 years of nursing experience. Kirby spoke on women’s health issues, encouraging women to prioritize their health. Screenings such as mammograms, pap tests, colonoscopy, bone density and blood pressure and cholesterol are essential for good health. She discussed when women reach a ‘certain age’ face menopause…and stresses to embrace the changes, seek support to cope and thrive with this phase in life. Adding protein, regulating hormones, exercise and strength training are ways to be healthy at this time. Osteoporosis is another health issue women encounter. Medicines and supplements are vital and help in dealing with this condition.

Alaine says, “It’s OK to make us a priority”.

She is accepting new patients through Western Ohio OB/GYN located in Greenville.
