Abby Jo Lawrence-Schleiger, 67 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:57 AM at her residence. Abby was born December 16, 1957, in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Alyce Louise (McCabe) Shaffer. Abby enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Abby is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Alysa Louise Pipenger.
Abby is survived by her children, Samantha Mitchell, Tenille Lawrence, Anna Mae Schleiger, Leslie Schleiger and Jacob Schleiger; her grandchildren, Aniyah Jo, Jalen, Amari, Alana, Kevanna, Caden, Killian, and Andrew; her brothers and sister in law, Roger B. McCabe, and Richard Lee and Emily McCabe; her nieces and nephew, Katie McCabe, Jarrod McCabe, Natashia, Rayna, Nick, Cassie Santena Brickler, and Vanessa Grant; her aunts, Karon and Marion Hoskins, and Rebecca French; and numerous cousins and other family.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Steve Copas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
