Greenville City Schools Expands Student Support Through Partnership with Family Health

GREENVILLE – Greenville City Schools is proud to highlight its partnership with Family Health Services of Darke County, bringing both medical and behavioral health services directly to students and families through school-based health clinics at both district campuses.

This partnership represents an important step in the district’s ongoing commitment to supporting the academic, physical, and emotional well-being of students. By providing access to healthcare services within the school setting, Greenville City Schools and Family Health are working together to reduce barriers to care, improve student attendance, and ensure students have the support they need to succeed.

Through this initiative, both the K-8 and high school campuses have access to medical and behavioral health services. Each campus is supported by a dedicated behavioral health counselor, while a primary care provider serves students across both locations. These services create opportunities for students and families to receive healthcare support in a convenient and familiar environment.

“We recognize that student success extends well beyond the classroom,” said Greenville City Schools Superintendent Julie Jones. “When students are physically and emotionally healthy, they are better positioned to attend school consistently, engage in learning, and reach their full potential. Our partnership with Family Health allows us to provide another important layer of support for our students and families.”

School-based healthcare can be especially valuable for families who face challenges related to transportation, scheduling, or accessing services during the traditional workday. By bringing these resources directly to school campuses, the district hopes to help students receive appropriate care while minimizing disruptions to their education.

The partnership also reflects Greenville City Schools’ broader commitment to building meaningful relationships with community organizations that share a common goal of supporting children and families.

“Strong schools are built through strong community partnerships,” Jones added. “We are fortunate to have Family Health working alongside us to address the needs of our students. This collaboration reflects our commitment to educating and supporting the whole child.”

As the program continues to develop, Greenville City Schools and Family Health will work collaboratively to evaluate services, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the clinics continue to meet the needs of the school community.

Through partnerships like this, Greenville City Schools continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. One Greenville. One Green Wave.
