Commissioners Sign Proclamation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ October 8 regular meeting began at 1:30 p.m., with Commissioners Combs and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the October 6th minutes.

The Examination and Allowance of Bills was next. The General Fund amount was $40,006.00, Outside funds totaled $ 531,437.66, and the total approved was $571,443.66.

Three departments had transfers of appropriations. The Commissioners had 2 transfers: $26,730.00 for monthly IT services and $1,000.00 for Grants expenses. The Sewer Dept. transferred $63.00 for postage for the Ft. Jefferson Sewer, and the Building Dept. transferred $5,000.00 to cover machinery and equipment. All were approved.

Four Fund Advances were next. The 2025 FAA Box Hangar Grant was advanced $66,649.09 to cover final Level MB and CTL engineering expenses. The 2025 Brownfield Grant advanced $20,723.11 for the Hamilton Project to cover Patriot Engineering, and $2,943.99 for the Jones property to cover H&H Environmental. Finally, the 2025 Building and Demo Revitalization Grant received $13,385.00 to cover H&H Environmental for 5 different properties. All were approved.

Revenue and appropriations increased by $53,328.53 from the 2025 Box Hangar grant.

The Darke County Municipal Court offered an expense request for Judge Monnin to attend the Ohio Judicial Conference Annual Meeting in Columbus on Sept. 17-18, 2026. The approved total was $414.56.

Before the meeting, the committee submitted a proclamation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Metastatic Breast Cancer Day, which will be journalized.
