Richard W. “Rick” Hudson, age 58, of Greenville passed away at 10:48 pm Friday, October 2, 2026, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
Rick was born on September 16, 1968, in Dayton to Nancy (Vaniman) Hudson of Greenville and the late Mike Hudson. In addition to his father, Rick was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry & Fran Hudson and Robert & Annabelle Vaniman; and uncle & aunt, Nick & Jill Vaniman.
Rick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patricia (Marker) Hudson whom he married February 26, 2001; daughter & son-in-law, Alexis & Brennan Gettinger of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandson, Greyson Gettinger; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Dan & Michelle Marker of Greenville and John & Carrie Simons of Greenville; cousin, Robin & Bob Brunk of Eldorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick was an electrician with IBEW Local 82. Rick enjoyed farming and collecting John Deere Tractors, guns, and airplanes.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Elder Daniel Marker officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County in Rick’s memory.
