DARKE COUNTY – October at the center begins Thursday with chair yoga at 10 am. Then it’s time for fun with an hour of free Bingo starting at noon. Movie buffs can watch the 1944 screwball dark comedy crime film, Arsenic and Old Lace beginning at 1 pm and enjoy fresh popcorn. The film starring Cary Grant is a Frank Capra black-and-white classic.
Friday is Refit at 10 am, Geri-Fit at 11:30 and a music presentation from Mike and Marsha Bowman and friends at 1 pm. Effective Tuesday, 10/6 Geri-Fit goes from 11:30 am on Tuesday and Friday to 11:00 am on Tuesday and Thursday. If you attend Geri-Fit, please make a note of the day and time changes.
Wednesday October 7th members with October birthdays will be celebrated during the Member Meeting at 3:00 pm. As Church of the month, they will also provide refreshments at our main craft event held later in October.
The Darke County Seniors are grateful to Stelvideo Christian Church and recognize the church’s long and strong history of not only preaching and sharing the fundamentals of the gospel but sharing and experiencing the love of God. This can be seen and witnessed when they gather for worship, soup suppers, ice cream socials, volunteering at Grace Resurrection food and clothing ministries, and sharing Thanksgiving and Christmas meals together. Stelvideo Christian Church is located at 6808 Church St, Greenville with Sunday School at 9:30 am and worship at 10:30 am every Sunday. All are welcome to visit and attend.

Description: Join Mary Rader and Theresa Kress for a fun session decorating gingerbread people with icing and candy. Each creation will be sealed with varnish and add a gold cord so it can be displayed at home during the holidays. Each participant will be able to decorate a variety of adorable gingerbread people.

Description: Card Bingo will be held from 7–9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. This fun twist on traditional bingo is easy to learn, and most of us will be learning together. Bring one or two decks of cards and $8 in quarters for each deck you plan to play. Each game costs 25 cents, and the winner or winners receive that game’s pot. A new 25-cent ante begins with each game. Please bring a snack to share during intermission and come ready to have fun!

Description: Learn how to decorate glass bottles with chemical etching cream. The hardest part may be choosing your stencil! This simple technique creates an expensive-looking finish. All materials are provided, so come try something new.

Description: Junk Journaling is an affordable, eco-friendly hobby that serves as a tactile and therapeutic outlet to reduce stress and preserve memories by combining ticket stubs, trim, special memorabilia, your children/grandchildren’s drawings etc. Use your imagination for other “treasured” items along with your photos and make your own Junk Journal. Journals and embellishments will be provided.
