GREENVILLE – The Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Committee will be selling gift baskets during the 2026 Darke County Fair, with proceeds benefiting the Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Department and its exhibitors.
The baskets will be on display in the Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Barn beginning Friday, August 21, at 5:00 p.m. Baskets will be auctioned throughout the weekend during breaks in the Market Poultry Show on Saturday, August 22, and the Fancy Poultry Show and Peewee Showmanship on Sunday, August 23. Additional baskets will be auctioned during the world-famous Rooster Crowing Contest on Saturday evening.
All auctions will be held in the Poultry Barn, with Tyler Greer serving as auctioneer.
Funds raised through the basket auctions help the Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Committee support its exhibitors and poultry program throughout the year. Proceeds are used to provide scholarships for graduating poultry exhibitors, make improvements to the Poultry Barn, award prizes to outstanding poultry exhibitors, and purchase T-shirts for Junior Fair poultry exhibitors.
Those who purchase a basket may pay with cash or check. Checks should be made payable to the Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Committee.
Fairgoers are encouraged to stop by the Junior Fair Poultry Barn during the 2026 Darke County Fair and participate in the live auctions. Your support helps the Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Department continue providing opportunities and support for its young poultry exhibitors.
