GREENVILLE – During the Saturday equine show at the Great Darke County Fair, members of the Equine 4-H program took a special pause to recognize outstanding achievements. The program announced this year’s Skillathon winners, scholarship recipients, and reintroduced their previously crowned Equine Royalty.
Representing royalty for 2025 are:
Queen: Allison Pierron
Princess: Bailey Foster
1st Runner-Up Princess: Chloe Hoying
The Skillathon contest is a challenging test of horse knowledge, covering topics from tack and equipment to health, nutrition, and breed identification. Participants are quizzed on all aspects of equine care and management.

This year’s winners were:
Junior Division
1st – Skylar Ragsdale
2nd – Kinley Post
3rd – Briley Miller
Intermediate Division
1st – Sarah Hartman
2nd – Julia Arbogast
3rd – Ashton Miller
Senior Division
1st – Lauren Porter & Gabriella Stebbins (tie)
2nd – Kiera Spencer
3rd – Rose Kremer
First-place winners received a custom chair along with a cash prize, while second- and third-place finishers were awarded cash prizes.
The evening also highlighted the Equine Scholarship recipients:

Both recipients were awarded $500 scholarships in recognition of their dedication and involvement in the equine program. Although Ethan was unable to attend, his horse was pictured in his honor.
