WEST CHESTER – On January 29, at 1:11 a.m., officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant for Daoto Thomas (36) at 1445 McKaig Ave. at the request of the West Chester Police Department. Thomas was identified, threatened officers on the scene, and refused to surrender.
Deputies from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and officers negotiated with him until 6:16 a.m. when it became clear he would not surrender voluntarily. As officers on the Troy Tactical Response Team (SRT) prepared to enter the residence, Mr. Thomas exited his apartment and was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
The West Chester warrants included charges of Having Weapons Under Disability (F3) and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (F4).
