DARKE COUNTY – On Wednesday at approximately 9:30 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire, Arcanum Rescue, and Miami Valley MICU responded to the intersection of SR 49 and U.S. 127 in reference to a two-vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Dark Green 2005 Ford F-150, driven by Douglas James (59) of Greenville, was traveling Southeast on SR 49. A Gray 2016 Kia Rio, driven by Kailynn Johnson (19) of Centerville, Ohio, was entering SR 49 from U.S. 127. Johnson failed to yield the right of way and was struck by James.
Johnson and her passenger, Kiera Kinnison-Mcnutt (19) of Greenville, were transported to Miami Valley Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. James was transported to Wayne HealthCare to be treated for minor injuries as well.
This accident remains under investigation.
