2023 Darke County Jr Fair Livestock Sales
Here is the Schedule of Livestock Sales:
Market Lamb Sale & Market Goat Sale – Tuesday, August 22 at 5 pm in the Sheep Arena
Swine sale – Wednesday, August, 23 at 11 am in the Swine Barn
Rabbit & Poultry Sale – Wednesday, August, 23 at 4 pm in the Poultry Barn
Dairy Beef & Milk Sale – Thursday, August, 24 at 4 pm in the Cattle Arena
Beef Sale – Thursday, August, 24 at 5:30 pm in the Cattle Arena
Note: Market animals sold through the Darke County Jr Fair are not eligible to be entered, shown, and/or sold in another Jr. Fair.
The Sale Committee is planning on holding a “Thank You Breakfast” for the buyers on September 9th, at 8:00 am, in the Youth building. If you could RSVP to our email by September 2nd to let us know if you will be able to attend, that would help us in our planning. Invoices will be ready at this time. If you are unable to attend, we will either mail or email your invoice to you.
Buyers will be billed on one invoice for all animals purchased and will be asked to write one check to the Darke Co Agricultural Society. No money should be paid directly to the exhibitor. All money must go through the Ag Society. This year on the night of the sales, we will have a couple of people that will be able to take your payment instead of waiting till the invoice is ready.
Credit cards and debit cards will be accepted, with a service fee added. Since exhibitors will not be paid for the animals that are sold through the auction until their buyers have paid, we request that invoices be paid as soon as possible and no later than Oct. 10th, 2023. Past due balances will be charged an 11⁄2 % service fee or a $1.00 flat-fee after the 30-day period.

Buyers who have bought and paid for at least $200.00 worth of projects by November 16, 2023, will have their name published in a “Thank You” ad from the Livestock Sale Committee. All outstanding buyer names will be omitted from this ad.
Exhibitors will be informed by the Sale Committee of the name(s) and address(es) of their buyer(s) and the amount of your purchase. Any outstanding balances as of December 1, 2023, will lose Fair-related privileges such as Fair Camping, Fair Box Seats, Fair Vendor Privilege Contract, etc., if the outstanding buyer is associated with any of these privileges.
Our committee will be discussing and working with sale promotion, buyer recognition, billing procedures and sale operations. Please let any of us know if you have any suggestions that would improve any of our sales. Again, thank you very much for your continued support.
