Congratulations to the following WOAC and Darke girls’ basketball players on receiving All-Southwest Ohio Honors.
In Division IV Tri-Village, Rylee Sagester was the Southwest District Player of the Year and coach Brad Gray was the Coach of the Year.
Sagester led Tri-Village to an undefeated 11-0 league championship, was the WOAC Player of the Year, District 9 Player of the Year and averaged 21.7 ppg. She recently broke the State Girls all-time 3-point goals made in a career. Currently she has 99 this season and 386 career made triples.
Coach Gray led Tri-Village to their 1st ever undefeated regular season, now 26-0 and his team finished #1 in the final AP DIV rankings. The Lady Patriots will play Thursday night 6:00pm at Vandalia Butler High School in the Regional Semi-Final game taking on Marion Local.
Joining Sagester on the 1st team were teammates Morgan Hunt and Torie Richards.
Other WOAC 1st team selections were Tri-County North, Rilee Terry and Mississinawa Valley, Taylee Woodbury.
3rd team sections were Mississinawa Valley MacKenzea Townsend, Tri-County North Hannah Webster and Tri-Village Kynnedi Hager.
Honorable Mention went to Ansonia’s, Bailey Schmit and Brenna Schmit, National Trail, Ashlynne Osborne, Newton, Reese Hess, Tri-County North, Bella Cherry and Twin Valley South Jordan Ritchie.
In Division III 1st team selections were Dixie, Sierra Brinson, Preble Shawnee, Liv Thompson and Campbell Jewell.
Versailles, Jenna Dirksen was selected 2nd team.
The Lady Tigers have blazed through the tournament knocking off Madeira for a District Title and they will play East Clinton 8pm Wednesday night March 1st at Springfield High School.
Preble Shawnee, Harlee Howard was a 3rd team selection.
Honorable Mention went to Versailles, Taylor Wagner and Allison Schwartz.
In Division II Greenville Skylar Fletcher was Honorable Mention.
