DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ September 24, 2026 regular meeting started at 1:32 p. m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from September 22nd.
The examination and allowance of bills were introduced and approved for September 24th. The General Fund total was $42,018.48; the Outside funds were $132,285.26, totaling $174,303.74.
The Wagner Avenue Government Center, Commissioners, and Board of Elections all had transfers of appropriations approved. Wagner Avenue transferred $31,964.00 for various invoices and utilities. The Commissioners transferred $2,500.00 for county vehicles, and the Board of Elections received two transfers: $ 5,500.00 for absentee ballots and $ 2,190.28 for poll workers. The second transfer was from a poll worker grant from the Secretary of State.
Next was a fund advance for Darke County Grants. The advance was to pay Brumbaugh Engineering and Surveying $20,000.00 for the Ansonia Project.
JFS and Juvenile Court reached an agreement with Michael Wehrkamp Engineering Inc. to provide backup plans examiner services for the Darke County Building Dept. The agreement pays Wehrkamp $140.00 per hour and is billed in quarter-hour increments.
JFS and Juvenile Court agreed on a contract for IV-D Services. The agreement is for Clerking services by the Court from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, and certifies the funds are available within the Child Support Enforcement Agency to cover the contract. The total contract is $31,456.28.
Notice of a public Hearing to accept the receipt of Zoning Commission recommendations, and set a public hearing for text amendments to the D.C. Zoning Resolution was approved. The public hearing will be Tuesday, Oct. 13th, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room on the first floor of the County Administration building.
The Commissioner’s accepted a quote for a vehicle from Dave Knapp Ford in Greenville for the Solid Waste Dept. The total quote was for $52,587.00.
The Board accepted a certificate of appointment for the Darke County Building Dept. Elise Karns will be Administrative Assistant effective Sept. 28, 2026.
