I hope this Newsletter finds you well. The weather cooled off some after the heat of last week, and some scattered showers throughout the county have remained as well (https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?OH. The crops continue to dry down as much of the silage harvest is nearing an end. Tar spot has been present to varying degrees in the corn, and common weeds have included Common and Giant Ragweed, Lambsquarter, Foxtail, Velvetleaf, and Waterhemp. I hope you all continue to have a safe harvest season.
Come stop in at the next Darke County Garden Roundtable to learn about Common Natural Edible Plants and our Plant of the Month, Pumpkins. Our next session will be held at the OSU Extension Office September 30th at 6:00 p.m.
Additionally, I’ll be taking a deeper dive into Pumpkins at Worch Library. If this is a topic you would like to learn more about, I hope to see you there on September 2th at 6:00 p.m.
