I hope this Newsletter finds you well. Darke County continues to stay out of abnormally dry conditions as the crops continue to grow in the fields (https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?OH). Field activity has largely included making third-cutting hay and fungicide applications to corn and soybeans. Common weeds have included waterhemp, jimsonweed, wild carrot, giant ragweed, and velvetleaf. Remember to stay safe on the roads as farm equipment travels from place to place.
If you’re interested in the next Darke County Garden Roundtable, our next session will be held at the OSU Extension Office on Wednesday, July 29th at 6:00 p.m. We will be discussing Planning a Successful Fall Garden, and our Plant of the Month is Winter Squash.
