DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ regular Thursday, February 12, 2026, meeting started at 9:30 a.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from February 10, 2026.
The Examination and Allowance of bills dated February 12, 2026, were presented. The General Fund amount was $47,197.70, and the Outside General Funds were $807,543.08, totaling $854,740.78. They were approved.
Darke County Grants had a 3-step revenue and appropriation increase next. Step one involved the 2025 ODOT Weather Station Grant, which resulted in a revenue decrease of $1,518.00. Step two then the Commissioners added that amount to the County Share. Then a fund advance back for the Weather station, totaling $259,188.00, was put back to the General Fund.
Next, a Lease extension for Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley was presented. It will be effective June 1, 2026, through May 31st, 2031, for $61,710.00, payable in monthly installments of $5,142.50. A second 5-year option rate, effective June 1st, 2031, through May 31, 2036, at $63,162.00, payable monthly at $5,236.50, was approved.
The Commissioners then accepted the Grant Agreement from September 19, 2025 for $136,809.00 from the local Jail Project Program. A request for proposals for a needs assessment sent on Oct. 4th, 2025, received five bids. Of the five, one was evaluated by the Sheriff and the Commissioners, and that firm, DLZ National, Inc., is to provide further assessment of the qualifications at a cost of $58,000.00.
A letter of Support was sent to Senators Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno on behalf of Wayne Healthcare, asking Congress to direct funding to acquire a Da Vinci robotic surgical system to serve Darke County and the surrounding region. It was approved.
Darke County Grants had a Revenue and Appropriation increase of $460,000.00, received from the 2025 Building Demo and Revitalization Grant. It was happily accepted.
