GREENVILLE – The Green Wave dropped a Tuesday night home game to the visiting Xenia Buccaneers 66-46 in conference play.

“Ultimately we have to put the ball in the hole,” said Greenville coach, Matt Hamilton. “We have to put both ends of the floor together, momentum, confidence.”

The two struggling MVL teams came into the night with identical 3-13 records on the 2023-2024 season.
Xenia took the first quarter 13-9 and opened up a double-digit lead at the break taking period No. 2 by a 16-7 score giving the Buccaneers ownership of a 29-16 halftime advantage.
“We go on dry spells and it becomes long possessions when you haven’t put the ball in the hole,” Hamilton noted. “Momentum shifts and we don’t handle that well. We’re not going to win any games putting up thirty-some points,”

The visitors were nine better in the third 22-13 sending the game to the final period of play with Xenia up 51-29.
Greenville won the fourth quarter 17-15 in falling to the Buccaneers 66-46 in MVL play.
