“We want to get benefits information out to our veterans they have available that I don’t think they know they have,” said Holly Wedam, Village Green Community Services Representative. “As an admissions person at Village Green, when they come to my office and they need help, maybe paying with assisted living or senior living care I want to be able to give them the resources and the knowledge they need to know where to go and how to get that information.”

The seminar was presented by Thomas Pitman, Director/CVSO Veterans Service Officer, and Var Gehron, Veterans Service Office. Also attending was Darke County Veterans Services Commissioners, Chris Rehmert, Jim Kammer, and Gaylen Blosser.

“I want to thank Holly Wedam from Village Green for inviting us to the VFW to put on this veteran’s benefit luncheon. We had a good turnout and we’re looking forward to our next one on April 19th at the Ansonia American Legion Post 353.”

“We are very veteran-friendly at Village Green,” Wedam noted. “One of my favorite things in the building is a Veterans Wall for anybody that has been a resident of our facility has their picture up on that wall and even after they pass they get the Red Poppy on their picture. We love our veterans, it’s the reason we all live the way we live – because of our veterans.”
