VERSAILLES – Starting this Sunday evening, residents may notice different Fire and EMS vehicles and apparatus in and around the Versailles community in addition to deputies from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
Several neighboring departments have offered to assist with Fire and EMS service coverage to allow for Versailles Fire and EMS personnel to prepare Village emergency vehicles and apparatus to be a part of the funeral procession for Chief Brian Pearson.
Additionally, this coverage by neighboring departments will allow Versailles Fire and EMS personnel to attend, participate, and mourn the passing of their Chief, who has passed far too soon.
Residents, businesses, and motorists are urged to use caution and expect delays the Tuesday late morning for a full funeral procession between the Oakland Church of the Brethren and Greenlawn Cemetery that will include numerous Fire and EMS vehicles and apparatus from the Village and beyond.
The Village of Versailles greatly appreciates the kind words and offers of assistance from all of our neighbors and beyond during this most difficult time as we honor and remember Chief Pearson.
As a sign of respect and acknowledgment of the sacrifices and dedication to service exhibited by Chief Pearson, Mayor Dammeyer asks that flags be flown at half-staff on Sept. 10.
