DARKE COUNTY – On Saturday, at approximately 3:14 a.m., Darke County Deputies attempted to stop a black 2000 Harley Davidson for a moving violation near the intersection of Oliver Road and US 127.
Prior to the violation, the operator appeared to be struggling to keep the bike straight. The operator of the Harley fled the traffic stop and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit traveled east on Oliver Road to SR 121. The pursuit then went south on Arcanum-Bears Mill Road and into the cemetery and continued into several harvested fields. The operator continued southeast and eventually crossing over Horner Road and into another field. The operator slid in the mud and was then taken into custody.
The operator was identified as Eric Haines (29) of Versailles.
He was taken to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office Jail charged with Failure to comply (Misdemeanor 1), Possession of drugs (Felony 3), Fictitious license plates (Misdemeanor 4)
and Driving under suspension (Misdemeanor 1).
