Versailles FFA competes in County FFA Soil Judging

VERSAILLES – On Tuesday the Versailles FFA participated in the County FFA Soil Judging competition. The Versailles FFA members participating in the Rural team included Maggie McGlinch, Ben

Josie Pothast, Trevor Luthman, Jayna Luthman, Patrick McGlinch, Adam Rauh, Gracie Henry and Gabe McGlinch This team placed 1st overall in the county contest, and Patrick McGlinch placed 1st overall, Maggie McGlinch placed 2nd overall and Josie Pothast placed 3rd overall.

As part of the contest Versailles FFA members evaluated 3 soil pits, took a written test on their knowledge of soils and related topics and tested over the soil survey related to Darke County. A special thanks to Darke County Soil and Water Conservation for providing the contest and Greg McGlinch for providing the team with a soil practice pit.
