UC students check out the new MRAP police vehicle

UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City SETT (Special Entry Tactical Team) took the MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle out to show the local students on Workforce Wednesday.

This incredible piece of equipment was obtained through the federal government at zero cost to the taxpayer and came with replacement tires and wheels. Even better, local high school students from Union City will be installing the new logos on the MRAP as part of their hands-on learning experience.

We also want to give a big shoutout to a local business that is donating maintenance and repairs to ensure there are no excessive costs to the community.

The MRAP has already been activated multiple times in Union City and has supported other law enforcement agencies in the area during high-risk operations. This vehicle plays a crucial role in keeping officers and first responders safe when responding to emergencies.

This MRAP will continue to serve Union City and surrounding communities, allowing law enforcement to respond effectively to critical situations.
