UC man charged with strangulation of his own mother

UNION CITY, Ohio – On Wednesday afternoon, the Union City Ohio Police Department arrested 18-year-old Atrevion Bell after responding to a domestic violence report from a residence on N. Stateline Street, where it is reported Bell lived with his mother.

According to reports, when officers arrived on the scene, Bell came outside brandishing a firearm, but fortunately, no shots were said to have been fired from either side. Reports also indicate, Bell was intoxicated on alcohol at the time of the incident.

Bell was arrested and charged with several counts, including Strangulation (F4), Domestic Violence (M1), Aggravated Menacing (M1), Using Weapons while Intoxicated (M1) and Underage Consumption (M1).

He is currently being held on a $30,000 bond, awaiting a preliminary hearing in the Darke County Jail. He is also ordered no contact with his mother if he is bailed out.
