UNION CITY, Ind. – On October 17, the Union City Police Department executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of W. Oak St. During this operation, multiple marked patrol cars were on the scene with lights flashing.
At approximately 8:00 pm, a vehicle was observed driving around several patrol cars and through the active scene. Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Stephen Mann (73) of Union City.
Upon interaction, officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from Mann. He was subjected to field sobriety tests, which he failed. Mann was subsequently transported to St. Vincent Randolph Hospital for a blood draw.
The results indicated that Mann’s blood alcohol content was over the legal limit. As a result, he was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence.
