2 in custody after Miami County officers execute narcotics search warrants

MIAMI COUNTY – On January 18, detectives with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Troy Police Department, and Piqua Police Department executed three narcotics search warrants. The search warrants were the culmination of a several months-long investigation into the trafficking of cocaine in Miami County. The search warrants were executed in the 1000 block of Skylark Dr., Troy, the 300 block of South St., Piqua, and the 400 block of Garbry Dr., Piqua.

Items seized included approximately a half kilo of cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, a 9mm pistol, digital scales, drug packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and approximately $10,000.00 in U.S. currency.

Taken into custody without incident was Rico L. Edwards, age 40, of Piqua. Edwards was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail and charged with felony 1, trafficking in cocaine, felony 2, trafficking in hallucinogenic mushrooms, and felony 3, possessing a weapon while under disability.

Also taken into custody without incident and incarcerated in the Miami County Jail was Danielle Holloway, age 31, of Sidney. Holloway was charged with felony five possession of narcotics and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing.
