GREENVILLE — The Darke County Tractor Pullers Association (DCTPA) brought the roar of engines to the Darke County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday as part of the 27th annual Greenville Farm Power of the Past festival.
The association hosted a Friday evening truck-and-tractor pull on the track in front of the grandstand, followed by a free antique tractor pull on Saturday morning.
“Excellent turnout of vehicles tonight,” said Keith Horst, announcer for the Darke County Tractor Pullers Association. “The rain held off and it was an excellent night of competition.”
The Friday and Saturday events marked the fourth and fifth DCTPA competitions of the 2026 season. Horst said the schedule is just beginning to pick up, with numerous truck and tractor pulls planned through late July and August.
One of the season’s premier events will be the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) Regional/National tractor pull during the Great Darke County Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The sanctioned event will begin at 7 p.m. in front of the fairgrounds grandstand.
“We will be pulling here Monday night during the fair,” Horst said. “Our DCTPA pull was always on Tuesday morning and afternoon, but the decision was made to move it to Monday. We’ll be here for the Darke County portion of the show, and then we’ll be back Tuesday night for the NTPA Regional/National event.”
Horst expects a strong turnout for both fair-week competitions.
“We’ll have a good number of vehicles for our Darke County show on Monday, and I expect to see a good turnout of vehicles Tuesday night for the NTPA pull,” he said.
The DCTPA’s antique tractor pull and fast show are scheduled for Monday during the Great Darke County Fair.
Horst also expressed appreciation to those who helped make the Farm Power of the Past events possible.
“We certainly want to thank the Darke County Fair Board for allowing us to come in here and hold this truck and tractor pull, as well as the Farm Power of the Past Committee,” Horst said. “They’ve had this event going on for a long time, and it’s one of my favorite events. Thanks to those two organizations for allowing us to come in here and hold these truck and tractor pulls.”
The truck and tractor pulls were among the featured attractions during the four-day Farm Power of the Past festival, which celebrates agricultural heritage through antique equipment displays, demonstrations, and family-friendly entertainment.
