UNION CITY, Ind. – The Tri-Village Lady Patriots rallied from a 4-0 early deficit to defeat the Shenandoah Lady Raiders 11-4 in the Dylan Williams Memorial Invite sponsored by the Union City Memorial High School.
“We started off rough with our pitcher just not being quite warmed up,” said Tri-Village coach Emily Asborne. “She was able to pull through for us and go the full seven.”
The Lady Patriots battled back with a six-run fourth inning led by an RBI single off the bat of Hailey Burk and a two-RBI Kaley Brandon double.
“They were a pretty strong hitting team, so it was nice to see that we were able to keep them to the four runs that we gave them, and part of that was errors,” Osborne said. “We had an error behind our pitching and she was struggling to find the zone at first.”
Elizabeth Poling went the distance for Tri-Village to earn the win allowing two earned runs, four hits, walking one, and striking out nine.
The Lady Patriots cranked out 15 hits led by Kiersten Wilcox with three hits in five at-bats. Camryn Osborne, Tai Mize, Halley Burk, and Mylee Bierly each collected two hits. Emma Greer, Kaley Brandon, Macy Howell, and Emma Cantrel each hit singles. Collecting doubles for the Lady Patriots included Burk (2), Wilcox (2), Osborne, Greer, Brandon, and Mize. The team had four walks, led by Aereonna Baker with two free passes.
“We hit the ball; we had 15 hits,” Coach Osborne said. “I appreciate a team that is willing to get up and adjust.”

In game two, Tri-Village earned a 12-0 win over the host Union City Lady Indians to win the Dylan Williams Memorial Invite.
Tri-Village had the hot bats, collecting 17 hits and swiping 14 bases in the win while playing error-free ball in the field on a windy day in Union City.
“They were moving,” Osborne said of her defensive play. “It made them look funny in the outfield when they had to go after a ball and readjust but the other team made some good catches on ours. We had to hit line drives, and toward the end, we were hitting more on the ground and more line drives, and that’s where we got the momentum.”
The Lady Patriots single off the bat of Camry Osborn gave Tri-Village a 1-0 lead and made it a 3-0 in the second with RBI singles by Kaley Brandon and Emma Greer.
Tri-Village extended its lead in the top of the third with a run-scoring error and a two-run Macy Howell single.
The Lady Patriots exploded for six runs on six hits in the top of the sixth with Greer, Wilcox, and Osborne hitting RBI singles, Baker an RBI double, and a Burk fielders choice scoring a Tri-Village run.
Emma Greer threw 2.0 innings, allowing no runs, no hits, no walks, and three strikeouts. Elizabeth Poling pitched 4.0 innings of one-hit scoreless ball with one walk while striking out three.
Wilcox and Greer collected three hits and Brandon banged out two hits for the Lady Patriots. Howell, Osborne, and Greer each drove in two runs.
With the two Saturday wins, Tri-Village improves to 15-1 overall and 8-0 in the WOAC on the season.
