Trails and Tails 4-H Club hosts year end banquet

GREENVILLE—During the evening of December 19, 2022, the Trails and Tails 4-H club had their end of year banquet which included a senior recognition, awards ceremony, advisor recognition, officer induction and their first ever points mall! I mean, who doesn’t like shopping?

The club started their evening with a carry-in-style meal with the main course provided by the club. While everyone was eating, members were welcome to go shop at the points mall using the points they had earned over the year. The points mall was partially supplied by Spirit Medical Transport and the club couldn’t be more thankful! Once everyone had completed their meals the event moved to their senior recognition portion of the program.

The club was proud to recognize four senior members including Layna Best, Jonathan Smith, Ethan Shumaker and Lainey Miller.

Next, the Trails and Tails 4-H club moved into their awards ceremony.

Awards included: Outstanding Willingness, Kiera Spencer – Outstanding Involvement, Madison Werner – Outstanding Equine Leader, Madison Werner & Summer Harter – Outstanding Rabbit Leader, Madison Werner – Outstanding Non-Livestock Leader, Layna Best – Outstanding Overall Leader, Madison Werner – Reserve High Point, Kiera Spencer – Overall High Point, Ruby Delk – Most Improved Equine Member, Summer Harter – Most Improved Rabbit Member, Hannah Sloan & Ethan Shumaker – Most Improved Non-Livestock Member, Bella Cannady – Most Improved Member Overall, Ruby Delk – Rookie of the Year, Deirdre Ramsey – Sportsmanship Award, Ashleigh Shepherd – Plugger Award, Leah Fry – All Star Sales, Ruby Delk – Advisors Award (Marla), Summer Harter – Advisors Award (Shelby), Kiera Spencer – Advisors Award (Natasha) – Ashleigh Shephard – State Fair Qualifiers, Ruby Delk, Madison Werner & Kiera Spencer.

Wrapping up these awards, the club also had a few honorable mentions which included Jonathan Smith, Josh Smith, Jocelin Smith and Hailey Neargarder.

Once completed with awards, 2021-2022 President, Madison Werner was happy to go up and start the induction of the 2022-2023 officer team.

The new officer team includes President, Summer Harter – Vice President, Ruby Delk – Secretary, Hailey Neargarder, Treasure, Ashleigh Shepherd – Reporter, Jocelin Smith – Historian, Kiera Spencer – Health & Safety, Deirdre Ramsey – Community Service, Jonathan & Josh Smith – Officer at Large, Ethan Shumaker.

To conclude the evening, newly-inducted President, Summer Harter called the advisors to stage to say any final words for the year and then proceeded to thank members parents and family for their contributions to the club.

Summer concluded with a recognition of the advisors with small gifts for all of them. The Trails and Tails 4-H Club advisors include Marla Werner, Shelby Stump and Natasha Shepherd. Congratulations to all members for their hard work and accomplishments over the year 2022.
