Track teams compete at Eaton Relays

Relay teams from Eaton and Talawanda lead the way in the 400-meter steeplechase. The Eaton steeplechase course includes a water obstacle.

Eaton track hosted its annual Eaton Relays on Tuesday, April 12, with four teams participating. The relay style meet is a “warm up” for the coming season, allowing teams to get some official time on the track as the schedule gets underway. 

Runners clear the barrier and run through the water in the girls’ 400-meter steeplechase relay.

Eaton was joined by Oakwood, Talawanda and Centerville. Talawanda’s girls’ team took first place with 69 points, followed by Eaton with 58.  

In the boys’ competition, Eaton took the top spot with 58 points, edging out Oakwood (56) and Talawanda (55).

Eaton will travel to Twin Valley South High School on Friday for the Durkle Invitational. They will compete in two quad meets at Dixie and Brookville on Tuesday, April 18. On Saturday, April 22, the Eagles will host the Stoltz Invitational. 

The Eaton schedule also includes meets at Wayne, Tri-Village and Lebanon. The Southwestern Buckeye League Meet will be held at Bellbrook on Thursday and Saturday, May 11 and 13. The OHSAA District Meet will be Thursday and Saturday, May 18 and 20, at Graham High School.
