Tommy C. Maloy, age 76, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at The EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville, Ohio.
Tom was born on January 10, 1949, in Darke County to the late Lewis and Pauline (Welker) Maloy.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Jr., and his daughter, Tonyia Chadwick. his sisters, Betty Copeland, Margaret Hawes and Roseann Partridge; his brother, Jerry Maloy and his grandson, Austin Chadwick.
Tom is survived by his wife, June (Sleppy) Maloy, whom he married on December 21, 1968. His daughters, Shirley (Kraig) Karn, Julie Flach and Barbara ( Greg ) Hartoon; his grandchildren, David Briner, Ashley (Michael) Rogers, Michael (Kimberly) Perry, Taylor (Brennan) Holsapple, Stephen Perry, Travis Flach, Kyle Chadwick, Brooke Smith and Julianna Perry, Troy Hartoon, Kaitlynn Hartoon and Issabella Hartoon; his numerous great grandchildren; his sister in law, Sharon Maloy as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Tom was a 1968 graduate of Greenville High School. He worked in plant maintenance for 34 years at Corning Inc. Tom loved the outdoors; more often than not, you could find him on his John Deere tractor mowing his yard and the sides of the road. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. His “trophies” include eight deer heads, a wall mount turkey and a full turkey. He taught his girls their love for fishing. Every year they went fishing on vacation.
His family fondly remembers many trips to Michigan and Dale Hollow, Tennessee. Tom enjoyed watching sports on television, with football being a favorite. Back in the day it was not uncommon to find Tom golfing six to seven days a week. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 6, 2025, in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Eric Knight officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the services in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Greenville Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Darke County Cancer Society, 1111 Sweitzer St. STE C, Greenville, Ohio 45331 in Tom’s memory.
