MIAMI COUNTY – In a world where sometimes too many people focus on negativity and darkness, one Darke County nonprofit, Impactful Ripples Inc., is being a light to multiple communities. This week, The You Matter Project gifted 5 Miami County Schools with wearable reminders to grow self-worth and hope.
Over 2500 students in grades 6-8 received a You Matter bracelet in their school colors and an inspirational pocket card.
Coach Heather Suerdieck, CPC, ELI-MP (Impactful Ripples Inc’s Executive Director) said, “The only true armor against bullying, low self-esteem, and hopelessness is to build and believe that each person matters. It all starts with believing that You Matter. If you believe that you matter, it will change your mindset on what comes your way from other people.”
“The wearable reminders allow students to have that message on them each and every day. You get what you pay attention to, and in a world of technology, sometimes we just need to keep it simple with the words ‘You Matter’ and allow a person to start putting themselves back on their priority list,” she added.
