DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Senior Center Board has lined up a busy, fun and informative April with a few things occurring off-site.
Check out the Spring Expo on Friday, April 10th, from 11 am – 2:00 pm in the Community Building at the Fairgrounds. This three-hour event is open to the public and will have upwards of 80 local businesses represented in a range of fields, from flower shops, restaurants, hotels, retailers, nursing homes, service organizations, etc. The Expo offers individuals the opportunity to see what these local county businesses have to offer and connect with them on a personal level.
The DC Seniors will be offering sandwiches, salads, chips and drinks. Please attend and show your support for the hardworking businesses that provide us with their support. All proceeds benefit the DC Seniors Building fund.
Another exciting opportunity is a Dayton Dragons game held on Thursday, June 11th. Leigh Fletcher and Sue Christian of Friends on Board have created a motorcoach trip with the Darke County Seniors in mind. This will be a group motor coach departing for Greenville, heading to the Dayton Dragons ballpark. Seating will be in section 104.
The cost will be $85.00 per person. Reserve with full payment by April 15th; the check must be payable to Friends On Board. Sign up at the Senior Center or text Wally (508) 789-3884 or Mary (937) 423-2565
The itinerary is as follows:
3:45 PM – We will depart from the Greenville 395 Martin St. parking lot.
4:30 PM – Arrive at Silos Food Hall in downtown Dayton for a dinner meal on your own before the game.
6:00 PM – Depart for Day Air Ballpark for the 7:05 PM Dayton Dragon’s vs Fort Wayne minor league baseball game. You will have time to enjoy the Dragon’s gift shop and pregame activities before taking your seat to watch the game. Our reserved group seating is in section 104. You will receive a $5.00 food voucher to go towards a purchase of concessions during the game.
Effective Monday, March 23rd, the DC Senior Walking Club will be walking outdoors. The group will continue to meet at the Greenville High School to begin their outdoor walk. The group is looking for optional places to walk. If you have any suggestions or wish to join, please reach Wally at (508) 789-3884.
