DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ August 28, 2025, meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman and Combs present. The session minutes from August 26th were accepted. The session then proceeded with the examination and allowance of bills for August 28th. Vouchers amounting to $26,072.39 out of the General Fund, and outside funds of $111,017.32 for a total of $137,089.71 were approved for payment.
The Darke County Common Pleas court transferred appropriations of $4,000.00 to cover travel, lodging, and expenses for the remainder of the year.
The 2024 State Litter Grant returned $5,125.00 to the Solid Waste department.
Two new contracts for Darke County JFS for the Michaels Resource Treatment Center (MRTC) were approved for Momentum Counseling and Consultation for a licensed social worker to be present on-site up to 20 hours a week at a cost of $2,030 a month. The contract runs from September 1, 2025, to September 30, 2027. The other contract was for Robert Scheiding to provide medical services for MRTC. The on-call registered nurse or LPN will be compensated $210.00 per week for being on-call and $100.00 for on-call services provided after hours. The contract runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027.
The Darke County Grants awarded the Contract to Mikesell Excavating after accepting a grant from the 2025 Brownfield remediation program for demolition of the old airport terminal and lot. The contract is for $29,500.00. Terminal demolition is scheduled for completion by September 15, 2025, and reseeding and mulching are scheduled for completion by November 20, 2025.
Various departments had expense requests. The Prosecutor, for attending the 2025 Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Law Enforcement seminar, Oct. 9th-10th
, for James Bennett and Jeannine Myers. The total expense was $447.74
Jobs and Family Services will send Carla Allen, Beth Henry, Mary Kinnison, and Michelle Ruble to Lewis Center, Ohio, for a conference on Nov. 4th-6th for a total cost of $3,185.56.
Camille Harlan of the Common Pleas Court is attending the New Magistrates Orientation from Sept. 17th-19th, in Columbus. The total cost is $1,105.26. The court will also send Tracey Drew to the Ohio Association of Court Administrators Conference in Lewis Center from October 7th to 10th. Total Cost, $1,161.00
Finally, the Darke County Auditor had a revenue and appropriation increase from County Tax Collections of $3,125.84.
