GREENVILLE – An SUV crashed through the front entrance of Great Clips hair salon, located at 1520 Wagner Ave. in Greenville, at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
According to an eyewitness the black GMC Arcadia ran through the storefront and came to rest after slamming into a rear wall. At least one customer suffered a serious leg injury. He was reportedly transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in serious condition at this time. The female driver and her passenger were not injured and were helped out of the vehicle following the incident. No other customers or employees were injured.
“I jumped out of the barber chair and my instincts or my training took over. I started instantly coordinating, yelling for someone to call 911. Then ran to the car, checked on the driver and passenger, had them shut off the vehicle, and started getting them out and assigning people to take them and place them in chairs for safety,” said Shane Stachler of Greenville, who was getting his hair cut at the time of the crash.
“I then made contact with the trapped gentleman and started asking about his injuries and contact info, and stayed with him until the police showed up. You are never expecting something like that,” Stachler added.
According to Google listing, the business is temporarily closed for repairs. The incident remains under investigation by the Greenville Police Department.
