Sunshine 5K returns to the Greenville Park on Sept. 21

GREENVILLE – Join the Darke County Foundation for its annual Sunshine 5K Run/Walk in Greenville City Park on Sat., Sept. 21, at 8:30 am. A shorter 1-mile option is available. A free kids 400-meter fun run is at 8:15 am.

Last year nearly 600 people registered for the event. The scenic 5K course winds through the park and over the iconic swinging bridge.

Register for $20 at www.darkecountyfoundation.org. ($15 for ages 14 and under.) You’ll get a colorful t-shirt, a loaded swag bag, homemade cookies, fruit and drinks. An abundance of quality door prizes and age-group medals will be awarded. The price increases to $25 on Sept. 10. The No-shirt option for ages 14 and under is $5.

Proceeds from the Sunshine 5K benefit these local non-profit organizations: AddieGirl for Cancer Association of Darke County, DeColores Montessori School, Edison College Foundation, Final Bow Center for Children’s Performing Arts, Lifewise Academy Greenville, LifeWise Academy Versailles and Y.O.L.O. of Darke County.

The lead sponsor of the Sunshine 5K is Reid Health. Other major sponsors are Wayne HealthCare and Family Health.
