GREENVILLE—My County Link is happy to announce our first Impactful Rippler is Heather Suerdieck, owner of Inside/Out Coaching LLC.

Impactful Ripplers are people that initiate ripples of positive change within their community.

Suerdieck was nominated for many reasons, mostly due to her You Matter Movement, in which she passes out bracelets with “You Matter” on them to students in Darke and Preble Counties.

The bracelets serve as a reminder that we all have a voice, and that they matter.

The bracelets are available for purchase at four different locations in Darke County: Four Twenty Three in Greenville, Ashes to Beauty in Ansonia, Blue Willow Boutique in Versailles and 4One Apparel in Arcanum. From each silicone You Matter bracelet purchase, $1 goes back to buying the You Matter bracelets for local students, and from each leather, You Matter bracelet purchase, $2 goes back.

“A lot of times you don’t have someone to lean on or pick you up,” Suerdieck said. “You have to figure out how to do it yourself sometimes. These reminders are inspirational wear you see every day that remind you that you matter.”

In addition to a silicone bracelet that reads “You Matter,” students received a card that reads, “You Matter. Two of the most powerful words on the planet, yet we struggle to say them to ourselves each and every day. Your journey matters. Your voice matters. Your feelings matter. Your thoughts matter. Your future matters. And most of all, you matter.”

One of the nominations for Suerdieck talked about the countless ripples she’s made in our community.

“Every day, she wakes up to make the world a better place,” the anonymous nomination read.

She’s made countless ripples in our community and really has made it a better place. An example of this is the work she does as a graduation coach at Greenville High School. Suerdieck works with students who’ve fallen off the graduation track and need a little support and encouragement.

“I meet with seniors who maybe have had some traumatic events in their life, struggles to get to graduation, they’ve got to overcome some roadblocks, both academically and life,” she said. “The goal is to get them to graduation.”

Any citizen, of any age, from any local county, is eligible to be nominated for the Impactful Rippler award. Each month a recipient will be chosen by our board then featured with a story, and receive a special gift.
