Aktion Club Member of the Month for June 2023 is Matthew Strickland.

Strickland was last year’s President of the Aktion Club and does a lot of projects in the club.

One of the reasons Strickland got nominated for Member of the Month was a project he started to provide chemo bags to children who are sick.

The Aktion Club had done previous Chemo bags for adults who were sick and going through treatments.

After seeing a commercial for St. Judes Hospital, Strickland wanted to help kids as well.

“Matt’s very influential, very compassionate, and he cares a lot about people,” Sue Huston, Community Connections & Advocacy Coordinator at Darke County Developmental Disabilities, said.

In addition to his projects, Strickland enjoys listening to Alley Boy and being with his girlfriend of nine years, Lauren.

Aktion Club Member of the Month for July is Chasiti (Chas) Floyd.

Floyd is the current President of the AKtion Club and was previously the President of their Advocacy group.

“I like to help people, and I like to volunteer,” Floyd said.

Huston described Floyd as supportive and an encourager. She loves to help people and to give advice.

Floyd is excited about many upcoming events and projects the Aktion club has. Stuff the Bus, Heart of Darke, and a fair booth in the Colosseum are just a few of the projects they have coming up soon.

In addition to her projects, Floyd enjoys listening to old-school country music and the band 3 Doors Down. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
