Steven J. Manning, age 76 of Lawrenceburg, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 8:35 PM at the Wellsprings Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born in Decatur, Indiana, on May 19, 1947, he was a son to the late Robert & Velma (Minger) Manning. Steven was a Winchester High School graduate, class of 1965. After high school, Steven joined the United States Marine Corps serving from 1966 – 1969.

Steven was deployed to Vietnam, serving 17 months as a radio man and tunnel rat with Gulf Company, 2nd Battalion / 5th Marines at An Hoa south of the DMZ. During his tour, Steven received many awards and citations, including a Purple Heart with an oak leaf cluster.

Following his time in the service, Steven worked at Maul Brothers, Kerr Glass Factory, and was an owner/operator semi-truck driver. Steven last worked as a farm manager at RG Applegate Farms for 18 years.

He was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Saratoga, Indiana. In his free time, he loved sitting on the porch, being outdoors, and being “Mr. Fix-It.” Steven enjoyed going to casinos with his wife, Debbie, and talking to his Vietnam buddies, Lt. Harvey, Doc, and Mark Oakes. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Eurby Grubbs and mother-in-law Phyllis Pouder.

Survived by his wife of 36 years, Debbie (Pouder) Manning, whom he married on January 16, 1987: children Marcie (Manning) Harris; Jeremy Manning; Jodi (Manning) Barton; Matthew Voke; Kevin Voke: grandchildren Brittany Harris; Mason Harris; Alexis Manning; Ella Manning; Addie Barton; Elena Barton; Ostin Manuel; Savannah Voke; Wyatt Voke; MacKenzie Voke; Kayden Voke: 2 great-grandchildren: siblings Jerry & Amber Manning; Bobby & Beverly Manning; Mark & Mary Manning; Debbie Grubbs and father-in-law Chester Pouder.
