Those who know me, know I’m not fond of wintertime. The snow is usually pretty when it falls in small amounts at a time, and that makes it a little more bearable..
But January was a little too much for Jamie and me with the constant snowfalls, the coldness and iciness that came with it and that isn’t fun. I was already having back, knee, leg and foot aches and the coldness did not help. I don’t want to blame it on old age for me but I guess I am doing just that.
I don’t ever remember a January like we just had. Jamie and I were cooped up in our apartment for several days at a time on various days of the month.
I don’t like saying that winter isn’t my favorite season because I know it’s a part of nature and we are so grateful that it hasn’t affected us very badly.
I love my vehicle and I didn’t want to travel on roadways in those conditions that I wasn’t sure of. We need that car and it’s the only one we have access to. I think we’ve had enough snow, wind and ice this winter, so why wreak havoc on our lives?
So, I’m hoping that the rest of the season isn’t as bad, even though I know other areas in the country got it worse than we did. I’ve had time to think during our recent “lockup” about changing some things in my life. I want to do some spring cleaning and perhaps downsize some more and, and, for sure, hang around people who make us laugh and happy to be with us.
The fear Jamie and I have when these weather conditions happen is that our power will go out and we worry about our loved ones who have to go outside in this inclement weather. Jamie makes good company for me and I hope I do the same for him..
My hope is that we and our loved ones stay healthy. Our goal is to continue loving and living life.
I am getting out of a slump that started several months ago, and I feel much better about life and much more confident about what it holds for us. And, I thank those who made it possible.
