Spirit EMS responded to six dispatched incidents while serving the Houston Joint Ambulance District between August 2-8, 2026, according to Brian K. Hathaway, President and CEO.
All calls originated within the district, and crews responded from the station at 5125 Russia-Houston Road in Houston.
Two of the six calls were injury accidents, with assistance provided on scene by Lockington firefighters and Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies. One additional call was canceled while crews were en route to the scene.
Of the four patients transported during the week, two were taken to Wilson Health in Sidney and two were transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
Spirit EMS achieved a 100 percent response rate for all dispatched calls during the week.
August 9-15, 2026
Spirit EMS responded to three dispatched incidents while serving the Houston Joint Ambulance District between August 9-15, 2026, according to Brian K. Hathaway, President and CEO. Following several days without any EMS activity, crews answered three calls during the weeklong period.
All calls originated within the district, and crews responded from the Houston station.
One patient was transported to Wilson Health in Sidney with on-site assistance from Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies. Another call involved a cardiac arrest in which the patient was pronounced deceased at the scene. Spirit EMS subsequently transported the decedent to Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek. Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies, Russia Fire first responders, and the Shelby County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
The week’s remaining patient was transported to Kettering Health Troy.
Spirit EMS maintained a 100 percent response rate for all dispatched calls throughout the week.
August 16-22, 2026
Spirit EMS responded to three dispatched incidents between August 16-22, 2026, while serving the Houston Joint Ambulance District, according to Brian K. Hathaway, President and CEO.
All calls originated within the district, and crews responded from the Houston station.
Two patients refused transport following evaluation by EMS personnel. Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies assisted at both scenes. One patient was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy with on-scene assistance from Russia Fire first responders.
