MIAMI COUNTY – The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of December 30 in the 5000 block of Monroe Concord in Union Township, Miami County.
Deputies responded to the scene following reports of a shooting around 6:54 P.M. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an individual who had been shot with a handgun. The victim was flown by a medical helicopter to a hospital in Montgomery County.
The victim, Daniel H. Davis (54) who resided in Union Township, did not survive his injuries and died at the hospital.
Initial investigation indicates that the shooting was a result of an argument between the victim and his son. The son, Daniel H. Davis Jr. (22) of Union Township, shot his father and then surrendered himself to arriving deputies without incident.
Davis Jr. has been charged with Aggravated Murder and is incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing and the case will be presented to the Miami County Prosecuting Attorney for review.
