Sandra Benadum Brawley, age 87, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2024. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on September 30, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Nadine (Buckley) Benadum.
Sandra was a 1954 graduate of North High School located in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1958 with a B.S. in Education and a certificate in Dental Hygiene. While studying at OSU, she was also involved with her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. She continued her education at Los Altos Hills Junior College in California, where she received her certificate of Dental Assisting. Sandra was a dedicated dental professional employed in a variety of dental capacities in Ohio and California. She retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Dayton, Ohio, after twelve years.
She is survived by her four children, Craig Brawley of Greenville, Chad and Julie Brawley of Independence, Kentucky; Shawn (Jessica St Myers) Brawley of Dayton, and Tracie and Jeff Bixler of Greenville; her granddaughter Madison and Toren Ford-Jones of Windermere, Florida. She was soon to be blessed with an additional grandchild, Reid Brawley, expected this year. She also had two loyal companions in her lifetime, her dogs, Otis and Gage.
In her own words, she had a deep love for her family, friends, and her God. Sandra was always grateful for those who walked beside her or crossed her path during her lifetime. She cherished her friendships with love, and they truly enriched her life with memories.
A celebration of life will occur on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM, in Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. A visitation for Sandra will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio 45331. A burial will occur at Silent Home Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, OH, at a later date.
