Ronald L. Hollopeter age 81, of Greenville passed away at 9:08 pm Saturday, May 20, 2023, at his residence.
Ronald was born March 29, 1942, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Robert L. & Mary E. (White) Hollopeter Sr.
Ronald was also preceded in death by his sisters, Valerie Ann Hollopeter and Linda L. Van Den berg; and a brother, Robert L. Hollopeter, Jr.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet Sue (Baker) Hollopeter whom he married October 7, 1990; children, Amy (Debbie) Holden of Troy and Ronald Douglas Holden of Louisville, Colorado; step children, Russell (Mary Ann) Sanderson of Bradford, Melanie (John) Rimmer of Greenville, Michael (Denise) Sanderson of West Milton, Jerry (April) Sanderson of Kingman, Arizona, and Lani Workman & Fiancé, Larry of Muncie, Indiana; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, David (Jeannie) Hollopeter of Union City, Indiana; sisters, Gloria Stump of Greenville and Bonnie Studer of Holland, Michigan; several special nieces and
nephews.
Ronald served in the U.S. Army as a SP 4 in the 1 st Cavalry Division from 1959-1962 during the Korean Conflict and Berlin Conflict. Ronald retired from Springfield Auto Mall on September 10, 2010. Ronald loved traveling, especially to the beach and the Great Smoky Mountains. Ronald also loved fishing, and especially his fishing trips to Michigan.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 26, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Marla Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery in Darke County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard.
