Roberta M. Warner, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on August 22, 2024 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Greenville. She was born October 4, 1931 in Gettysburg, Ohio to the late Minor Fair & Viola (Reck) Fair. On May 2, 1951 she married her late husband of 67 years, Jack J. Warner. They have 3 surviving children, Nancy (Greg) Barr of Greenville; Todd Warner of Greenville; Kent (Kelly) Warner of Arcanum. Also surviving are grandchildren Nathan Meyers; Hunter Warner; Joshua Marker; Danielle Marker -Gerdes and great-grandchildren Isaiah Myers; Jackson Warner; Annabella Warner; Emily Marker: and sister-in-law Jean Fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents: in-laws Carl & Orpha Warner: siblings Lyle (Madge) Fair; Gene Fair; Richard (Mildred) Fair; Carl (Roberta) Fair; Doyle (Opal) Fair; Norman (Doris) Fair; Louise (Bill) Frey; Ned (Darlene) Fair; Donnie (Linda) Fair: daughter in law Peggy Warner and grandson Tyler Warner.
Roberta graduated high school from Franklin in 1949. She worked at the Central Drug Store until it closed in 1968. The store became Greenville’s first Hallmark Card store and Roberta worked there until the mid-1970s, then she started selling real estate for the next 20 + years.
Roberta was an active member of East Zion Community Church for 65+ years. She volunteered for the local hospice organization for 40 + years and received their Volunteer of the Year Award several times. She was on their board when hospice was formed and then visited with their patients for many years. Roberta was also on the board of Community Action Partnership for 20 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She attended a Bible Share Group every week for many years. She loved to play euchre and played 3 days per week for several years.
Roberta donated her body to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University to hopefully allow them to find answers and cures for others who have lived with the same debilitating diseases.
Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:30 PM at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 with Pastor Paul Calvert presiding. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Gettysburg Cemetery.
