Ricky Joe Lumpkin, age 49, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, after battling esophageal cancer.
He is preceded in death by his loving partner, Ruthie Deal; his parents, Rick Lumpkin and Phyllis (Boerger) Honeycutt.
Ricky is survived by his siblings, Stacy (Lumpkin) Baldwin, David Lumpkin, and his half-sisters, Jessica and Jennifer Lumpkin.
Ricky Joe was born on March 27, 1977, and was a graduate of Ansonia High School. He spent most of his life in Ansonia, where he built a life centered around hard work and family. Ricky Joe was employed at FRAM until its closure and later worked for many years at Cooper Farms until Ruthie needed his care.
Ricky Joe enjoyed cooking and was known for making the best fried chicken, which he loved sharing with his family. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and taking his Corvette out for a drive. Ricky will be missed by many and will be remembered as a good brother and a good friend to those who knew him.
The family has chosen to honor Ricky’s wishes for a quiet goodbye. There will be no service but feel free to honor him in your own way.
