GREENVILLE – The 169th Great Darke County Fair is officially underway with an early Friday morning ribbon cutting, Mandy Rismiller singing the National Anthem, and the Darke County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 57 raising the American Flag.
Fair Directors, State Representatives, and community members gathered Friday morning for the start of another successful nine days of the Great Darke County Fair.
“It’s an honor to be at the Great Darke County Fair,” said Ohio State Senator Steve Huffman. “I wish the best to all the youth in the county, and agriculture is the largest industry in Darke County, and it will be a wonderful week.”
Fair board president Marla Werner welcomed guests, State Representatives, and introduced the 2025 board members: Dean Neff, Craig Bowman Jayden Hicks, Christoph Keller, Heidi May, Greg Pearson, Apollo Perez, Dave Singer, Russ Skaggs, and Curtis Yount.
“This year we have had some ups and downs, we’ve been through a lot, but we’ve made it through it,” said Werner. “We’ve come together as a board, we’ve worked together to put on this great fair.”
“We have a lot to offer. We have some new things, and we’ve really worked hard. Our vendor spots are full because when you come to the fair, you want to have something to look at.”
“New this year is LEGOLAND, free events, and many grandstand events are free this year,” Werner continued. “We have gazebo entertainment that goes on about all day, every day, and we have many new entertainers there, so there is something for everyone.”
The main attraction at the 2025 Great Darke County Fair is Country artist Travis Tritt, who has had an impressive music career for more than 35 years.
“We still have some Travis Tritt tickets so call the Box Office, stop in the secretary’s office, they can let you know what is available, they are getting slim though so make sure you get those as soon as you can.”
