Raymond E. Kissinger, age 76, of Union City, Ohio, passed away at 10:10 am Monday, October 16, 2023, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
Raymond was born December 16, 1946, in Winchester, Indiana, to the late Raymond & Edna Elnora (Peters) Kissinger. Raymond was also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Phyllis “Jackie” (Warton) Kissinger, and a sister, Helen Kissinger.
Raymond is survived by his children, Charlotte Kissinger & William Klosterman of Ft. Recovery, Jennifer Kissinger of Dayton, Oliver & Michelle Kissinger of Greenville, and Victoria Welch of Winchester, Indiana; grandchildren, Benjamin & Bethany Kissinger, Eran McClellan, Blain Smith, Tyler Domingo, Adrianna Welch, Sheabryn Welch, and Willow Welch; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Kissinger, Janet & Mike Frawley, Rosie & Ed Boldman, Ruby Rose and Aggie & carl Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and also served in the U.S. Army National Guard for a combined 20 years. He then retired from Corning Glass in Greenville with 25 years of service. Raymond later worked for 17 years in the TLE Department at Walmart, and with his love for children, he happily played Santa for 16 years at Walmart. Raymond was an avid WWE Wrestling fan and enjoyed pioneer reenactments at Ft. Rowdy in Covington and Prairie Days in Darke County.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden with full military honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
