DARKE COUNTY – Join us on November 14th at 9am for the 5th annual Raptor Run 5k!
Enjoy a run (or walk!) through the pristine prairies, under woodland canopies, and around wetland wildlife. Pass by iconic locations at Shawnee Prairie Preserve like the Sugar Shack, Log House, and Blacksmith shop before completing your run near the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center. At the end you’ll be greeted by the raptors themselves! Say hello to Pip, an Eastern screech owl, and Umber, a Barred owl, at the finish line for a photo.
Medals will be awarded to the top male and female of every division. The divisions are as follows: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, and 56+. Get registered today on our website, www.darkecountyparks.org/raptor5, before it is too late!
We want to give a special thank you to our volunteers who contribute their time and energy to ensure events run smoothly. Then, of course, a thank you to our sponsors: Park National Bank, Wayne Healthcare, and Barga Heating & Air.
