Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, the Preble County Coroner’s Office and the Preble County Prosecutor’s Office have begun an investigation.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the 12-day-old infant on Thursday. The preliminary findings of the autopsy are consistent with evidence found at the scene by detectives, indicating that a dog inside the house bit the infant several times, after knocking over a bassinet that the child was in.
Detectives will continue their work to complete the investigation.
