Eaton bounces back with win over Ross

Eaton’s boys’ varsity basketball team looked to bounce back after struggling offensively in their two previous games. The Eagles played back-to-back games without one of their leading scorers, dropping both.

Ramy Ahmed returned to the lineup against Ross and immediately got rolling offensively. Ahmed scored 11 of Eaton’s first 14 points to open the game, and had 18 points at halftime. He finished with 26 to lead Eaton. 

While Ahmed helped Eaton offensively, the Eagles were unable to pick up a win. In a close game throughout, Eaton fell short 53-51.

Madison 41, Eaton 35

Eaton struggled offensively in the absence of one of the team’s leading scorers, Ramy Ahmed. Madison also found points hard to come by, but was able to hold on the for the win.

Eaton found themselves down by six at halftime, 20-14. The two teams played even in the second half and Madison came away with the six-point win. 

Eaton is scheduled to travel to Brookville on Tuesday, Dec. 20. They will return to the courts after the holidays competing in the Tri-Village tournament on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 29-30.

Preble Shawnee puts together four-game winning streak 

Preble Shawnee 73, Stivers 51

Preble Shawnee’s boys’ varsity basketball team scored 70+ points in back-to-back games this weekend. The Arrows picked up their fourth win in a row, with a convincing win over Stiver, 73-51, on Saturday.

A 23-7 advantage in the second quarter proved to be the difference for the Arrows. PS went into halftime up 36-17. The two teams played even in the second half, but Stivers was unable to make up the deficit.

Mason Shrout led the Arrows with 34 points. 

Preble Shawnee 79, National Trail 23 

Friday, Dec. 16

Preble Shawnee put this game away early scoring 30 points in the first quarter. They led 48-18 at halftime and cruised to a 79-23 win.

Shrout again led the Arrows offense with 26 points.

The Arrows are 6-1 overall and remain unbeaten in Western Ohio Athletic Conference play at 3-0. PS is one of four teams in the WOAC at 3-0, including Dixie, Bradford and Tri-Village.

They are scheduled to host Tri-County North on Tuesday, Dec. 20, and then travel to Carlisle on Friday.
